The Geek & Gorgeous 101 aPAD is a silky, lightweight serum with 20% Azeclair, a powerful Azelaic Acid derivative (Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate or PAD), to normalize oil production, even skin tone, and soothe skin.
Azelaic Acid is a clinically proven 3-in-1 active that helps reduce blemishes, pigmentation, and redness. This formula uses a new-generation water-soluble form called Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate (PAD), which has similar properties to Azelaic Acid but allows for an exceptionally lightweight, non-greasy texture. PAD’s two strong suits are evening skin tone and controlling excess oiliness.
pH 5.5-6.5 | 20% Azeclair (Azelaic Form) + Allantoin
In our formula, we use 20% Azeclair, a solution that contains 6% pure Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate (PAD). While 6% may not sound high, when it comes to PAD, it is an excellent amount. The molecule is effective and commonly used at concentrations of 1-3%. Studies conducted by the ingredient manufacturer indicate that 3% PAD (or 10% Azeclair) is an effective amount for normalizing sebum production and evening skin tone, while a study published in the Journal of Dermatological Treatment used 5% PAD for rosacea management.
